Sun 7 Dec – Monmouth Christmas Head of the River
Frank Hamilton, Harry Stirling, Ben Gittus Smith and Denis Bradulin went to a quality Head hosted by Monmouth Rowing Club. In the morning division they all joined forces in a IM1 Quad and impressed onlookers, winning their category in style, beating a strong Bewdley boat in the process.
Then in the afternoon division team mates became competitors as Harry and Frank took on Ben and Denis (as well as three other crews) in the IM1 doubles. Youngsters Harry and Frank managed to hold off Ben and Denis to win by just one second, the Stratford boats again leading all other opposition to win the catagory.
Thanks go out to host club for lending the boys a boat to row in after theirs suffered a broken rigger just minutes before getting on the water.
Sun 16 Nov – City of Bristol Head
Stephen Haighton, Glyn Hawkins, Richard Nelson and Simon Beard came first (of 5) in Masters D 4+ at Bristol Head, coming in 26 seconds ahead of the next crew and taking 8 seconds of the Masters D 4+ course record.
Well done gentlemen!
