Saturday 17th October – Evesham Junior Head.  The club enjoyed one of its best ever medal hauls at Evesham when competing in the Junior Head over a 1900m course.  On a day when several course records fell, Stratford crews set an incredible 4 new records.  Successful SUABC crews included the Junior 18 year old girls (Imogen North, Lucy Weston, Cassie Bird & Phoebe Winter) sculling to victory in a coxless quad and taking 20 seconds off the previous course record and wins in the Junior 13 boys (Geoffrey Flambert & Joe Hodson) and Junior 14 girls (Emily Browne & Katie Phillips) double sculls respectively.  Stratford’s 14 year old girls were also victorious in the coxed quadruple sculls category (Gracie Mitchell, Autumn Keil, Jessica Wiesheu, Katie Wellstead, cox Mimi Hill).  In other age groups double sculls gold medals were won by the Junior 15 girls and Junior 16 boys (Isaac Herring & Max Beishon), the latter shaving 2 seconds off the previous course record.  Esme Booth, rowing a year above her own age group, secured victory in the Junior 18 girls single sculls.  Several other Stratford crews competed well, ensuring that winning crews from other clubs worked hard for their medals.  It was particularly encouraging to see Stratford competing successfully throughout the junior age spectrum, which is testimony to the current good health of the junior section and bodes well for the next few years.

Saturday 26th September – Wallingford Long Distance Sculls.  No wins over the full course at Wallingford but a win for our junior girls in the W.J14.4x+ over the short course.

Saturday 29th – Monday 31st August – Ross Regatta.  The last Regatta of the season and held over the bank holiday weekend it is always a fun one which includes dragon boat racing as well as the usual junior, senior and masters action.  Stratford had 3 wins and a further 6 crews into finals on the Sunday with one further win and 2 runners up on the Monday.

Saturday 22nd August – Warwick Regatta.  4 wins for Stratford at our neighbours Warwick with a further 8 crews losing out in finals.

Saturday 15th August – City of Oxford Regatta.  What a great day’s racing.  One win for the W.J15 quad but everyone rowed so well in their events.  A very close call for the J15.2x, losing by just 1/3 length and two W.J15.2x crews into finals as well.

Saturday 20th June – Stratford Regatta.  5 wins for Stratford at their own Regatta and a further 8 crews into the final on what was at times a beautiful day and at others a deluge.

Saturday 2nd May – Evesham Regatta.  Sadly no pots for Stratford at Evesham but some really good performances across the board and a particular mention for Theo Mordaunt & Sofia Ward in a great final race against City of Oxford.

Saturday 12th April – Abingdon Head.  Conditions were very challenging with gusting wind and a strong field including several clubs from the Upper Thames region and the likes of City of Oxford and RGS High Wycombe.  Some of our juniors were rowing up and some competing for the first time against senior crews and with three wins and valuable experience gained, with this being the final Head, we are now eagerly looking forward to Regatta season.

Saturday 21st March – Kingston Head of the River.  Our Masters E4+ crew of Stephen Haighton, Glyn Hawkins, Tim Hayter, Simon Beard and Jen Clements won in their class and were also the second fastest Coxed Four of the day.

Saturday 21st March – Runcorn Head of the River. In a composite MasD 8+ crew with Bridgnorth, Tom Doherty and Richard Nelson won their class at Runcorn by a large margin. In fact they beat all bar 7 crews in the event including 2 IM1 ,2 IM2, 6 IM3, and all 6 other MAS A,B,C,crews.

Saturday 14 February – Worcester Head.  Despite a valiant effort by a very depleted junior squad, they didn’t manage to secure any wins this time and neither did our seniors, however our veteran crews battled the cold and the fog in the morning to secure two wins.

Saturday 24 January – Northampton Head of the Nene.  A very successful day in Northampton to Stratford securing 9 wins.

2014

Saturday 6 December – Wycliffe Small Boats Head.  A great medal haul for both our crews and KES crews on this 2.5km canal course.  22 medals for Stratford (5 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze) and 15 for KES (5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze).

Saturday 29 November – Hampton Small Boats Head – The Club took three boats to Hampton.  Imogen North achieved a bronze in WJ171x (10:14.7), Charlotte Cox & Georgina Cherry in WJ15 2x were 6th of 11 (10:16.6) and Conrad Bird & Isaac Herring in J15 2x were 9th of 20 (09:36.5).

Saturday 18 October – Evesham Head – Small number of clubs – quality over quantity.  There were, frustratingly, 3 second placings (WJ144x+, WJ152x and J154x+) but Isaac Herring won J151x and the J152X with Conrad Bird.  Plus a win for the J18 KES crew.

Saturday 6 September – Worcester Autumn Regatta – Stiff competition!  Strong crews from great clubs including AB Severn, Stourport and Worcester themselves.  With at least 7 races lost in finals, our 3 wins on the day could easily have been more.
