Team Bonding

Team bonding days in Stratford-upon-Avon

Book a hotel for your conference, enjoy the ultimate team sport, take in a show at the RSC – all in the town centre, in the centre of the country.

Rowing is ideal for fun team bonding. It’s competitive, physical and requires quick thinking, technical uptake and tactics.

Just wanted to drop you a quick to say a ‘huge’ thank-you to you and the team for a fantastic session yesterday.  We really didn’t know what to expect and every one of my colleagues expressed how much they enjoyed the experience (especially those of us in team Jacobs!) and the key learnings we took were fantastic and very transferable in the workplace.

Team Building Day June 2014

Individuals have to quickly analyse and adapt their own abilities in order to work together and contribute to a team victory on the day. Our qualified coaches know how to form effective crews.

Stratford- upon-Avon Boat Club is a working boathouse in a fantastic spot on the River Avon, opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and close to shops, pubs and restaurants. With parking!

What’s involved? Groups can be up to 16 participants. Sessions take place in the morning while the river is quiet and are packed into a fast paced 3.5 hours, leaving your afternoon free for your conference.  Your customised programme will depend on your aims, but it will be based on:
  • A fast introduction to the technique on individual rowing machines indoors.
  • Introduction to team rowing on the river
  • Team racing on the river
  • The video game challenge – indoor crew racing all connected to the big screen, or
  • Indoor relay racing in teams of four connected to the big screen
  • Team points are awarded for each task leading to the winning team of the session.

Safety: The Avon at Stratford is fairly shallow and slow moving with low banks and so it normally presents few dangers, but a safety assessment will be made on the day. Each boat will have it’s own British Rowing qualified coach and an experienced rower in the crew with you. We can provide a safety boat on the water if required.

Eats: We will provide tea, coffee and soft drinks. Breakfast and lunch can be provided in the clubroom or we can book a room in a nearby pub. Alternatively, participants can take advantage of all that Stratford has to offer.

Cost:  Dependent on group size. E.g. – For a group of 16,  3.5 hour session, the cost is £60 per person.

We will ask for a deposit to cover boat damage.
