Members of Stratford Boat Club have had a busy three weeks, taking part in five events as well as a busy cleanup weekend in their boathouse and grounds.
Stratford upon Avon Boat Club entered two crews in the 2008 Pairs Head of the River Race in London on Saturday 11th October. The race takes place over 4km of the boat race course with 400 crews entered.
Stratford Boat Club juniors made the short journey to compete at the home of local neighbours (and sometime rivals!) Evesham Rowing Club. The event was Evesham Junior Head which has competition for all ages in the junior age group (18 and under).
Unfamiliar sunshine greeted junior and senior members of Stratford Boat Club on Saturday at Wallingford Small Boats Head. The upstream course against a very strong stream was raced over 4000 metres. The race was run in two divisions.
Stratford Juniors travelled to Ross on Wye Veterans and Juniors Regatta on bank holiday Sunday 23rd August. On a fast flowing downstream 750 metre course the small Stratford contingent showed true competitive spirit.
Members of Stratford Boat Club had a great day out at Warwick Primary Regatta on Saturday. All sections of the Club were represented and with a total of nine wins on this 500 metre course the Club once again won the Victor Ludorum Trophy.
